Job description
Job responsibilities
- Follow standardized software engineering processes to design, develop, document, review, test, analyze, and release code
- Contribute to the production of high-quality code using modern abstractions and frameworks where required
- Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, developers, system analysts, and marketing managers to produce the desired software solutions
- Troubleshoot problems and fix various bug issues
- Participate in creating specifications and maintaining operational documentation
- Research, design, develop and optimize new/existing software applications
- Identify the areas of improvement in the existing systems and direct the procedure
- Review software systems and applications to ensure high performance and low-latency
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5+ years of software engineering experience (rare exceptions if you are highly skilled)
- Expertise in one or more programming languages, frameworks, or libraries, including React, Node, Python, JavaScript, React Native, PHP, Vue, Java, Golang, Ruby on Rails, Angular, Django, etc.
- Excellent computational skills and solid understanding of designing, coding, debugging, and testing procedures
- Good understanding of the complete software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals with an excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Technical competency with a logical, analytical approach to problems
- Experience in web/mobile application development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed/parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, or systems/security software engineering
- Fluency in English for effective communication
- Availability to work with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with web stack, including front-end and back-end technologies, frameworks, libraries, etc.
- Knowledge of large systems, complex code bases, and version control systems
- Ability to document and maintain software functionality
- Extensive knowledge of SCRUM and Agile methodologies
