Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Assist in integrating front-end elements with server-side logic and functionalities
  • Collaborate with product teams and engineering leads to meet product requirements and build the finest solutions
  • Transform creative product specifications into functional and scalable features
  • Collaborate with operations and infrastructure teams to build and scale back-end services
  • Contribute to conceptualizing and implementing solutions for data storage
  • Write unit tests, integration and automation tests, and perform code reviews to improve code quality
  • Address the complex problems and deliver state-of-the-art solutions on schedule

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in back-end engineering (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Extensive programming experience with Java, Python, PHP, Ruby, .NET, etc.
  • Expertise in building RESTful APIs and end-to-end testing
  • Proficient with Linux/Unix and scripting languages, like Python, Perl, shell scripting, etc.
  • Knowledge of database systems and NoSQL databases, such as DynamoDB
  • Experience with web server technologies, including NGINX, Apache, and J2EE
  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented programing and software design
  • Expertise in writing and running unit tests for test-driven development methodology
  • Proficient with event-driven programming technologies, like Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, RabbitMQ, etc.
  • Fluent in English to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zone

Preferred skills

  • Understanding of AWS, Slack, and Asana
  • Familiarity with React and JavaScript is a plus
  • Knowledge of microservice architecture is also desirable
  • Excellent collaboration and team-player skills
  • Experience with all phases of SDLC and Agile development methodologies, specifically SCRUM and Kanban
