Job description

An emerging startup developing a financial platform and offering a modern approach to payroll for mid-sized organizations is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. The selected candidate will play a central role in the company and work with the US-based product and engineering teams to implement and contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle. The company is on a mission to empower people with control over their income and finances, thus providing a voluntary employee benefit that employers can implement. The platform has raised close to $13 mn in funding so far. This is a good opportunity for those who are excited to tackle tough technical challenges and contribute meaningfully to the product development. This position will require a time overlap with IST.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
  • Management of hosting environment, database administration, and scaling an application to support load changes
  • Perform data migration, transformation, and scripting
  • Create database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Suggest alternative technical and business methods and be at the forefront of the engineering efforts to deliver promptly
  • Monitor and operate production services, including implementation of adequate resilience and high-availability models
  • Manage the back-end API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners
  • Take responsibility for the integration of user-facing elements developed by the front-end developers 
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Design and implement data storage solutions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-8 years of relevant software development experience 
  • Proficient knowledge of back-end programming languages such as Golang, Java, and C++
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and platforms (React and React Native)
  • Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors
  • Sound knowledge of REST API design and development with experience building them
  • Expertise with API security standards and implementation (OAuth)
  • Good experience with API frameworks
