Job description

A US-based Edtech platform that enables users to access an unparalleled lineup of passionate instructors is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer. The developer will be responsible for designing, building, testing software solutions, and providing software development expertise, among other tasks. The platform combines best practices from top consumer technologies and media platforms to create a whole new learning experience for students whose learning needs and techniques are constantly changing. The company has raised more than $5 mn in funding so far. This role requires an overlap with the EST/PST time zone and will be a full-time position.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement and encourage an open learning environment for efficient knowledge sharing
  • Take responsibility for the entire development lifecycle from the design, planning down to maintenance
  • Build highly complex UI systems with best practices in mind
  • Collaborate with designers, product owners, and engineers to break down large complex features 
  • Develop unit, functional, and end-to-end tests
  • Effectively articulate complex ideas and influence others through well-reasoned explanations
  • Create and maintain shared documentation
  • Conduct code reviews and give constructive feedback
  • Identify risks, issues, and mitigate bugs
  • Identify areas of improvement and help accomplish them
  • Mentor junior software engineers within the company
  • Ideate solutions to business problems in a top technical field

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development
  • 5+ years of working experience with Node.js, React, and cutting edge development frameworks
  • 5+ years of relevant expertise in Agile development or similar methodologies 
  • Prolific experience working with Typescript, Next.js, Node.js, and related technologies
  • Deep experience with web apps, microservices, web architecture, design, and implementation
  • Solid technical aptitude to assist, onboard, and share knowledge with junior engineers
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
