Job description

A rapidly-growing company that leverages the power of technology to seamlessly connect subject experts with learners across the world, is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer. The selected candidate will be contributing largely to the international business department, which has a large legacy application in PHP and RoR. The US-based, ed-tech company is transforming the industry with innovative solutions and engaging attitude. It has raised more than $100mn during their Series C round of funding. This position requires a minimum of 6 hours overlap with the EST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Document the codebase and engage in knowledge sharing with the rest of the team
Guarantee top quality code; practice code reviews, unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests in a continuous integration environment
Participate in architecture discussions, influence the roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over new projects
Work with a variety of teams to integrate front-end components with back-end databases and applications
Enhance the overall application performance by adding new features

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack developer
Demonstrable experience working with Ruby on Rails, PHP, and AWS (RDS and Redis)
Some knowledge of CSS, NGINX, HTML, and JavaScript is desirable
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with other team members
Ability to function without hand-holding and micromanagement
A demonstrated track record of taking initiative and acting as a leader
