Job description

A fast-growing content and technology platform committed to offering financial freedom through real estate investing is looking for a Senior Full-stack Back-end-Heavy Developer. The developer will utilize expert programming skills to work across the entire front-end and back-end tech stack and contribute to building new application features and products. The company has created one of the largest online communities catering to millions of individuals looking to gain resources and succeed in the real estate investment space. This is an excellent opportunity for developers to showcase their skills while working with a talented team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The role would require some time overlap with the PST/EST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to building new features or products, working across the entire stack from front-end to back-end
  • Work on refactoring a legacy component or system or improving its scope
  • Collaborate on high-level architecture to implement scalable solutions
  • Be responsible for selecting a new framework, library, platform, or other appropriate technology
  • Turn mockups into a working product that communicates with the APIs
  • Conduct code reviews and internal workshops to educate on best practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3 - 5+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack/back-end engineer
  • Must be experienced in Ruby on Rails, React, and PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency with Stimulus, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Memcached for the back-end
  • Familiarity with background processing through Sidekiq
  • Proficient understanding of the Heroku platform to perform quick, continuous releases using CircleCI
  • Solid testing skills using RSpec, including static analysis (Rubocop, ESLint) to write highly performant code 
  • Effective communication skills to foster project logistics (Slack, GitHub, Zoom, and Jira)
