Job description

An emerging digital studio that develops and publishes smartphone games is looking for a Senior Backend Gaming Engineer. The selected engineer will be responsible for driving the server architecture and development of new features in the upcoming products. The startup has raised over $2mn in funding so far. As an engineer, you will collaborate with the development team in building and enhancing the backend architecture of a robust and scalable puzzle game. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is self-motivated and passionate about gaming. This role requires at least 4+ hours of PST time overlap. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop the backend architecture of the applications 
  • Enhance the functionalities of a robust and scalable Puzzle Builder 
  • Work across cross-functional teams to lead software development 
  • Ability to design features from a gamers perspective 
  • Work closely with the engineering teams to build new features and fix bugs efficiently

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of expert-level knowledge of server architecture with high load and multiple concurrent users 
  • Strong working experience on AWS services and Python 
  • Excellent knowledge of  No-SQL/SQL Databases
  • Good knowledge of Cache (Redis/Memcached) and Docker
  • Prior work experience on DynamoDB and Redis 
  • Working knowledge on Unity and C# is nice to have 
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
