Job description

A comprehensive ed-tech platform for educators and administrators is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for developing and architecting new features for the platform. The SaaS platform enables higher education institutions and state education agencies to continuously improve standards of practice, streamline and analyze their education technology to save time, money, and improve outcomes. This is a nice opportunity to join a fast-growing platform and contribute to building scalable ed-tech solutions. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build robust and scalable applications
  • Contribute to team efforts and provide feedback
  • Improve the code quality through testing, automation, and code reviews
  • Collaborate across teams to understand end-user requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Solve complex problems and deliver timely results 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Proficiency in React is nice to have
  • Familiarity with web server technologies and knowledge of database systems 
  • Understanding of backend software engineering best practices
