Job description

An early-stage cloud-based software providing meaningful insights into employees work environment is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for coordinating with team members to deliver a good quality product. The company has developed an award-winning solution that serves as a perfect tool for HRs and business leaders looking to scale up their businesses effortlessly. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with product groups and technical architects to build technical solutions in line with the requirements
  • Take ownership of components and deliver promptly
  • Develop back-end applications for the product while adhering to the organizational goals and practices
  • Take note of non-functional aspects of the product, such as security, availability, stability, auditing, compliance, etc.
  • Help with SRE activities for services owned collectively
  • Contribute to the growth of the company and assist in review and feedback cycle for various applications owned by the team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant industry experience as a back-end developer in a product company
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
  • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and collaborate with team members to deliver efficiently
  • Proficiency with Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS EC2, EKS, S3, etc.
  • Programming Languages proficiency, mainly Java and Python, and with web frameworks such as Spring and Django
  • Experience building APIs and services using REST, GRPC, OpenAPI/Swagger, etc.
  • Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, ClickHouse, QuestDB, etc. 
  • Expertise in services like Redis, Apache Kafka, and Apache Pulsar
  • Capability to integrate with external services such as Stripe, Twilio, SendGrid, OpenTelemetry, etc.
  • Competency in application security, scalability, availability, and other non-functional requirements
