Job description

A U.S.-based company building world-class tech-enabled healthcare solutions that delivers a virtual care experience is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will partner with the product, design, data science, and billing operations team to support by building new features and optimizing the existing ones. The company is transforming the traditional healthcare experience with products that tap into the power of modern technology. Innovative candidates with a track record of delivering quality work and exercising sound judgment in decisions are well-suited for this opportunity.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively lead web application development on the company’s platform 
  • Work with the product, design, and data team to develop the product roadmap
  • Architect and implement the next version of the enterprise infrastructure
  • Understand current systems and re-architect accordingly to provide a higher level of abstractions
  • Develop APIs and large-scale, event-driven systems
  • Advocate for immediate execution in a continuous-delivery, dynamic environment
  • Transfer the existing functionality into new microservices
  • Contribute to engineering best practices while mentoring junior engineers

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in product development
  • Demonstrable experience in functional programming, preferably in Scala or Kotlin
  • Prior experience in one of the strongly-typed languages (preferably Kotlin, Scala, Java, or Go)
  • Experience at a SaaS company or technology-driven company
  • Extensive experience in cloud operations and platform engineering
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
