Job description

A US-based company building a cloud-built platform that taps into the power of advanced machine learning and AI for a personalized and seamless consumer experience is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The selected candidate will be tasked with recognizing the user requirements and providing a smooth experience. The company is on a mission to help businesses achieve seamless end-to-end retail experiences from brand to store. During their Series D round, the company raised more than $400mn+ in funding. This will be a long-term, full-time position requiring 8+ hours overlap with the IST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create solutions for complex business procedures by designing and building them
  • Take ownership of components from beginning to end
  • Take responsibility for the subsystems you work on, including design, coding, testing, integration, deployment, and upgrades
  • Write high-quality code and take ownership of their work
  • Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks
  • Be a role model for young engineers, and have a strong sense of code quality, enforcing good code quality within the team
  • Work with management, product, QA, and UI/UX teams to communicate and collaborate
  • In a fast-paced start-up atmosphere, deliver with quality and on time

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Prolific experience working with Java, REST APIs, and Object-oriented programming
  • Experience building and scaling microservices
  • Demonstrable experience with NoSQL databases
  • Strong sense of ownership and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience investigating and fixing technical issues
  • Extensive knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL technologies, 
  • Demonstrable experience in developing back-ends for enterprise systems like e-commerce, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.
  • Debugging performance and optimization approaches are well-understood
  • Prolific experience working with MongoDB, MySQL, and AWS technologies
  • Extensive experience with ELK stack, Spring Boot, and Kafka
  • Working knowledge of cloud technologies
  • The ability to deliver in a fast-paced setting
