Job description

A rapidly-growing online gifting company that makes it easier for people to give and receive gifts from loved ones is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be working within an agile environment and will be tasked with making several key infrastructure-related decisions. The US-based company is providing customers with on-demand flower delivery services and creates a seamless, one-of-a-kind experience. During their Series C round, they raised $45mn+ in funding. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality, clean, and scalable code using modern techniques and frameworks 
  • Articulate and share the company’s vision and mission to its clients and other stakeholders in the market
  • Build scalable, clean, responsive, and well-documented stacks
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, fix code bugs and set up the required infrastructure
  • Research, design, and build highly reliable, and scalable platforms

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience working as a back-end engineer
  • Demonstrable experience working with Node.js and JavaScript
  • Prolific experience with database technologies like SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and DynamoDB
  • Experience building distributed systems for scale and deploying them in the cloud
  • Familiarity with Python, Java, or C# is desirable
  • Experience with AWS services like Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, and Kinesis or equivalents is nice to have
  • Ability to work well with other team members across disciplines
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving aptitude
  • Great organizational and time management skills
