Job description

A stealth cybersecurity technology startup on a mission to scale cybersecurity teams is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be working on a high-performing back-end/infrastructure team supporting a fast-growing developer tool. The company is building technology for technologists in the cybersecurity industry across Silicon Valley, Canada, and Europe. This is a great opportunity for developers to work with a team of leading industry professionals.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop designs, implement and test features for existing high-performance back-end and other infrastructures
Collaborate with PMs, designers, and other engineers for development in an agile, iterative environment
Conduct code reviews to improve the product effectiveness, quality, development speed, and continuous deployment capabilities
Mentor junior engineers to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers hindering autonomy
Contribute to Tier 2 or Tier 3 on-call rotations to assist in troubleshooting product operations, security operations, and urgent engineering issues

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 5 years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
Expertise in working with Python and Typescript
Knowledge of AWS and Terraform is required
Thorough knowledge of building high performing, quality, event-driven back-ends
Experience building cloud-based back-end apps using microservice architecture
Knowledge of designing uniform, stateless RESTful APIs that are pragmatic and intuitive
Should be able to diagnose and resolve errors and performance bottlenecks with event-driven, micro services-oriented back-ends
Professional experience in working with JavaScript, Ruby, or Python is preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced, product-oriented agile development environment for shipping software that addresses business requirements
Must work with be able to work with infrastructure as code
