Job description

A fast-growing collaborative platform on a mission to accelerate the pace of scientific research is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be tasked with building scalable, responsive, and well-documented stacks. The company is empowering scientists to independently fund, create, and publish academic content and revolutionize the rate at which new information is created and translated into life-changing products. This is an exciting opportunity for developers eager to work on projects that will have a long-lasting impact. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of integrating front-end components with server-side logic
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams, including front-end specialists, to build superior applications
  • Fine-tune operations to guarantee fast and efficient scalability features
  • Actively contribute to quality codes and general development practices
  • Implement security and data protection protocols that match present standards
  • Build concepts, design interfaces, APIs, data storage solutions, and other engineering projects 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Should be capable of identifying, proposing, and implementing solutions for complex technical topics
  • Must possess experience of working with high-quality software development teams
  • Should possess a deep understanding of designing, developing, and maintaining APIs
  • Thorough knowledge of working with cloud services like AWS
  • A deep understanding of document and relational database systems are essential
  • Must possess expertise in writing unit and integration tests along with the ability to design micro/macro services
  • Ability to develop fault-tolerant systems
  • Should be able to work, prioritize tasks, and take feedback
  • Should possess the ability to drive projects remotely
