Job description

A US-based company building a secure platform to help businesses handle their remote global teams' payroll, benefits, taxes, and compliances, is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The selected candidate will take ownership and create solutions to some exciting and unique challenges that will shape the future of work around the globe. The company is integrating local employment and bank partners to build out the necessary infrastructure to facilitate employment across borders. During their Seed round, the company managed to raise funding worth more than $2 mn. This role requires some overlap with the EST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership and be the architect of the software infrastructure
  • Take ownership and work on big features with autonomy 
  • Partake in brainstorming sessions and contribute proactively to new outcomes
  • Debug production problems across services and numerous levels of the stack 
  • Work with cross-functional teams/engineers across the company to build delightful features that span various parts of the system 
  • Collaborate with business, sales, and operations teams to understand and solve the users' pain points
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Prolific experience working with Node.js, Typescript, and Nest.js
  • Demonstrable experience with GraphQL and Microservices
  • Nice to have some knowledge of Prisma.io
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
