Job description

A US-based company on the path of building the future of monetization through decision-making is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The developer will have an important role in working on complex databases, building video pipelines, and ensuring the platform growth continues without a glitch. They will be expected to handle difficult tasks on tight timelines. This will be a great opportunity for developers to showcase their skills while working with industry veterans.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build, implement and iterate on new features
  • Take responsibility for your own codebase
  • Create and drive team-wide processes to ensure all devs are on the same page
  • Collaborate and work with the engineering team across all aspects of development
  • Debug the work before sharing it with stakeholders and testers
  • Take responsibility for your delivery and timelines
  • Automate as many aspects of your role so you can focus on what’s important
  • Participate in team calls with the executive and engineering team
  • Review and contribute to the functional requirements provided by the executive and product team
  • Work with the engineering team to establish best practices across the organization

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
  • 5+ years of experience in Node.js
  • Prolific skills with Node.js, Typescript, Express.js. Protobuf (or REST API), Websockets, PostgreSQL, and Ubuntu Linux (or similar)
  • Nice to have prior working experience with DevOps, Video processing (FFmpeg)
  • High EQ and the ability to work well independently, as well as with others
  • Proactive and not reactive
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, a fast learner, and methodical
  • Must be a great problem solver, and a team player
  • Self-aware with amazing problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and quick in your thinking and approach 
  • Capable of working autonomously and without supervision
  • Outstanding time-management skills and able to stick to deadlines
