Job description

A leading company in the world of cloud, artificial intelligence, and analytics-powered customer interaction solutions is looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be collaborating with Senior engineers, domain experts, product developers, and QA to design and develop new functionalities. The company is committed to enabling businesses to enhance customer experiences through innovative technology solutions. This position requires 4+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and develop robust Microservice using Java and AWS
Add new features to their existing data access layer to add more AWS storage options for high-volume transactions
Work on building a Microservice that handles storing high-volume transactions to be used by the extensive product catalog for a global software company
Design, create, and customize tooling for data migrations using AWS services
Add Aurora Postgres support to the existing Data Layer
Ensure the performance, quality, and security of the applications being built
Maintain existing codebase and support development of new features for key applications
Set and define standards that improve developer workflows and recommend best practices
Work closely with the QA team to deliver a quality product

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in Java back-end development
Experience in designing GraphQL or RESTful APIs
Experience with AWS Database and Storage solutions like Aurora Postgres and S3
Experience using AWS migration services is preferred but not required
Experience working with Docker/Kubernetes
Experience working with robust DevOps practices and deployment processes
Experience working on Agile projects with little to no supervision
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
Ability to understand and guide technical and product decisions to benefit the long-term viability of the applications being developed
Prior experience in working on projects through remote work is required
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge of software engineering principles and best practices
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
