Senior Back-end Developer

A financial company, which specializes in portfolio management services to provide investors with positive absolute returns, is looking for a Senior Back-end Developer. The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications, while also pricing libraries and services. The company is able to generate creative and profitable ideas for its clients, generating returns in any environment, along a diverse range of markets around the globe. This is a full-time position that requires 4+ hours of overlap with Dubai's (UTC+4) time zone.  

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications, libraries and services using modern technologies and frameworks
• Collaborate with management, the COO and Trading to understand and implement business requirements
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness for the applications
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and bugs
• Help maintain the code’s quality, organization, and automatization

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 7+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
• Ability to quickly understand and integrate new applications and technologies
• 7+ years of experience with Python, besides knowledge about its main libraries, such as pandas
• 7+ years of experience with Django, PostgreSQL and other database related technologies
• Experience with Git and implementing CI/CD processes to ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality software
• Knowledge about RESTful APIs development
• Work experience with unit and integration tests
• Experience implementing security measures and optimizing performance
• Profound experience dealing with bugs and troubleshooting
• Knowledge about Microservices will be seen as a plus
• Work experience with Docker and Jenkins is good to have
• Good capacity to multitask, organize, and prioritize work
• Ability to learn and use front-end systems such as Tableau and PowerBI
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS will be a plus
• Understanding of the FIX protocol and experience with FIX API connectivity is desirable
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
