Job description

A multi-platform arts and social impact collective is looking for a Full-stack Engineer React/Ruby. The engineer will work directly with the Product Manager and the CTO to build and evolve the technology landscape for the company’s product. The firm’s non-profit expands on the organization’s deep roots in building a community around inclusive creativity. Job Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of full-stack feature development tasks like defining, designing, and development, and maintenance of the application
  • Provide attention to essential detail and a commitment to high-quality, stable deliverables
  • Work and meet goals in both short and long-term roadmaps by making well judged tradeoffs keeping true to business priorities, user experience, and a strong  technical foundation
  • Take ownership of critical components of the platform
  • Build scalable solutions that meet business requirements and support necessary technology and architecture
  • Actively contribute to development activities related to building new and fine-tuning current solutions
  • Mentor and guide juniors developers and experienced software developers alike to streamline development cycle
  • Show efficiency in software project delivery, experience driving technical efforts, and experience with a variety of development tools and technologies
  • Take part in end-to-end product life cycle: listing requirements, designing, development, testing, support, and maintenance.
  • Develop related services that are easily scalable, testable, modularized, and reusable
  • Prioritize tasks, dependencies, scope, dates, and deliverables.
  • Contribute towards a long-term goal on our technical landscape
  • Define new documentation styles, doc standards, technical procedures, user guides and operational workflows
  • Lead the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of experience in building large scale, user-facing web sites, and applications.
  • Must have knowledge of products and experience of developing scalable software using technologies like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Typescript, React, and PostgreSQL
  • Should be confident at working in a containerized environment using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience of working with ORM tools like Mongoose or Prisma is preferable
  • Must be passionate about utilizing technology to make an impact
  • Should possess high-level distributed cloud knowledge - conceptual and hands-on implementation
  • Well-versed with synchronous and asynchronous processing of highly available and resilient applications
  • Must be able to speak fluent English with strong communication skills
