One of the world’s largest social change platforms with over 225 million users in 196 countries is looking for a Full-stack Engineer. The selected candidate will join the team specialized in building localized solutions on the platform. The engineer is expected to work effectively at scale, manage priorities and make progress with minimal supervision. The role requires a time overlap with IST.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coach and support junior engineers on the team
  • Contribute to the vision and long-term strategy
  • Build new flows, optimize existing ones to increase the impact and quality of petitions
  • Work on feature delivery
  • Learn different technologies, languages, and frameworks in all layers of the web stack, from front-end to back-end to infrastructure as code
  • Build a global and seamless user experience for all countries
  • Ensure availability and reliability of the services in production
  • Work in an agile development environment (Kanban, iterative development, short release cycles)

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • Strong knowledge of React and Node.js
  • Prior experience working with JavaScript client-side frameworks like React, Angular
  • Must be proficient with either Node.js/JavaScript, Ruby/Rails, or Elixir
  • Must have a deep understanding of designing and building scalable, and distributed systems, including microservices
  • Have practiced agile methodologies and fast development cycles
  • Must be open to collaborating remotely and communicating asynchronously across time zones
  • Proficient in applying security best practices during development
  • Prior experience with DevOps (i.e. Kubernetes, Graph QL) is nice to have
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems and algorithm optimization
  • Can independently work with different technologies, languages, and frameworks
  • Strong communicator and proficient in English (both written and verbal)
