Job description

A US-based tech company that offers secure cloud storage and sharing of files and folders is looking for a Full-Stack Ruby on Rails Developer. The developer will be responsible for mentoring fellow developers and assisting with product management duties. Candidates with a strong understanding of architecting, developing, and maintaining full-stack web projects are well-suited for this position. The company is revolutionizing the industry by providing secure solutions for file sharing, online collaboration, and virtual data rooms, along with a customer portfolio comprising giants like Philips, Dell, Starbucks, Colliers, and many more. It has raised a funding of over $3 mn so far. This is a great opportunity for those who can take ownership of the projects and work independently.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to critical team decisions and modify complex problems, customer needs, and business objectives into smart workable goals
  • Be responsible for the development projects from concept, through implementation and iteration, to deployment and maintenance
  • Work closely with the designers to ideate and explicitly define feature specifications 
  • Mentor developers, implement best practices, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack developer
  • Excellent understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Previous experience with Ruby on Rails or other modern web application framework
  • Familiarity with Git or some version control system
  • Solid expertise with relational databases - SQL, MySQL
  • Experience working with operations to build and scale the back-end infrastructure
  • Experience with JavaScript and libraries such as jQuery and Backbone.js
  • Experience working with HTML and S/CSS, Elasticsearch, HAProxy, Nginx, RabbitMQ, Redis, or Memcached
  • Experience working at a SaaS company
  • Ability to work both independently and in cooperation with others
  • Detail-oriented practices with pragmatic views towards shipping
