Job description

A U.S.-based company that is using its evidence management software to help public defenders better examine vital data, is looking for a Full-Stack React/Node Engineer. The selected candidate will be in charge of developing UI elements that integrate data from back-end REST API endpoints that were tested during design and development. The company is encouraging increased accountability in the judicial system by assisting lawyers in effectively analyzing this enormous quantity of data. The company has managed to secure $2.2mn+ during their Seed round of funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Apply UI/UX modifications based on UI mocks
  • Recognize the platform's overarching architecture and how the front-end is informed by it
  • By following recommended coding practices and maintaining good code hygiene, you can lower technical debt
  • Organize frequent feedback meetings with public defenders to learn what aspects of the platform are effective and ineffective
  • Contribute to the engineering process to better maintain engineering excellence and speed by putting in place user-facing features that will improve the platform's usability and public defenders' ability to use it


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack engineer
  • Prolific experience working with Node.js, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, REST/RESTful APIs
  • Solid understanding and experience with UI development
  • Prior experience building unit tests and testable front-end code with ease
  • In-depth knowledge of more general web topics, such as web security, REST requests, and CORS
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and knowing when to apply them
  • Be kind, sympathetic, and mindful of the societal impact
  • Self-driven and ready to contribute as a thought partner, the product roadmap's development
  • Nice to have some machine learning and Python knowledge for natural language processing (NLP)
  • Working knowledge of the AWS console and familiarity with Amazon Web Service are preferred
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
