Job description

A fast-emerging company that constructs, educates, and improves AI models for projects relating to other marine conservation and fisheries electronic monitoring is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer (Back-End-Heavy). The selected candidate will be responsible for helping to create scalable apps, starting with prototypes. The company uses only the most trustworthy data storage vendors and modern encryption technology to protect the data.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create the initial product offerings from scratch
  • Execute machine learning initiatives financed by grants and contracts
  • Considerably contribute to the infrastructure and culture of internal engineering
  • Assist in building scalable apps from prototypes
  • Develop testing, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices, and take charge of sizable end-to-end projects

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Experience with Python, API design, Docker, or similar containerized approaches
  • Knowledge of AWS or related infrastructure, and frontend technologies such as React
  • Ability and drive to immerse yourself in new technologies as needed
  • Proven experience and passion for architecting enterprise software systems with auto-scaling
  • Familiarity with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud offerings and experience deploying cloud-based applications
  • Experience across multiple environments is desirable
  • Familiarity with common machine learning and computer vision concepts and/or past experience in machine learning operations (MLOps)
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow is nice to have
  • Understanding of and experience designing security frameworks for cloud-based data and services
  • Experience in selecting and implementing authentication services for end users and API clients
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • A track record of executing projects from start to finish and presenting results to clients
