Job description

An emerging company that enables teachers and instructors to build a lucrative career and start earning online is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer. The engineer will be working on designing and implementing new features while helping to scale the team. The company is developing an open, socially-driven mobile and web-based app and platform for health and wellness instructors, students, and consumers. This will be a full-time role requiring some overlap with the US-time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and participate in the design and creation of scalable products
  • Take ownership of operating production-grade systems and App security
  • Oversee and maintain performance tuning while scaling solutions
  • Develop and maintain a mobile (iOS/Android) app with immediate expansion into a desktop Web interface
  • Focus on resolving the ‘trust’ as well as the ‘ratings’ problem
  • Work quickly and efficiently and deliver fast, taking pride in quality rather than shortcuts
  • Help the team understand your point of view and advocate for best practices and results
  • Hit the ground running and implement innovative solutions
  • Architect solutions end to end based on inputs from non-technical team members
  • Tackle and resolve virtual learning challenges
  • Create/adapt a JavaScript testing framework and introduce Agile/Scrum practices to the team
  • Work with CI/CD, create automated builds, and configure a build server
  • Propose automations, refactor code, resolve defects, and upgrade versions of React/Native
  • Translate code from React Native to React Web using same micro-services
  • Configure all React Native NPM packages for Android
  • Build out a full-features scheduling platform

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of experience working as a full-stack engineer
  • 4+ years of experience working with front-end technologies
  • 3+ years of experience with back-end technologies
  • Prolific experience working with CSS3, HTML5, and MongoDB
  • Demonstrable experience with Express.js, React Native, React, and AWS 
  • Nice to have some experience regarding payment processing with Stripe and Apple (Apple Pay and Apple in-app purchase)
  • Must be detail-oriented regarding implementation of UX/UI design
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
