Job description

An early-stage startup leveraging the latest technologies to develop cutting-edge digital SaaS tools is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer. As an engineer, you will join the motivated and adaptable team to build out the project features while writing testable, maintainable code. The company offers a single solution that empowers brokers with improved accuracy and transforms how insurance brokers manage everyday tasks. The selected candidate will work in a hands-on position while collaborating with a closely-knit engineering team and will have a massive early impact on the product.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be a key contributor to the early-stage and fast-growing web engineering team
  • Work with the team to solve intriguing technical problems and pioneer innovative and industry-disrupting solutions
  • Build unique product experiences in the web for both the front-end and back-end systems
  • Write and ship quality code quickly under tight deadlines
  • Report on progress, communicate often and be an active part of the Agile practices
  • Assist in building out the vision and delivering incredible customer experiences

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience shipping quality code across various stacks
  • Strong background in JavaScript frameworks; including React, Angular, or Vue
  • Professional experience working within a Node microservice architecture is a strong plus
  • Experience with database and persistence technologies including NoSQL and MongoDB
  • Experience working within Agile SDLCs, preferably in a startup or fast-moving environments
  • ‍Good to have experience building software for a startup 
  • Proven track record of developing server-rendered applications using Next.JS and solutions with Google Cloud Platform and Firebase is desirable
  • A good understanding of the insurance technology or industry is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skilled at uncovering best practices and applying them to your work
  • Excitement to hit the ground running, with a deep appreciation for the balance between technical proficiency and delivering on tight deadlines
