Job description

An NYC-based startup providing simple and less-stressful means to recycle unwanted electronics, shoes, and clothing is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer. The engineer will join the team to address complex technical issues at various levels spanning the architecture, code, and product, creating meaningful, workable solutions. The company’s active contributions in the apparel and electronics space helps to make the world a more environmentally sound and friendly place. Candidates who are keen on building the economy and promoting sustainability are suitable for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

Be the owner of the features you develop while collaborating with the rest of the team
Implement new APIs and write tests
Work as part of a small team where every person has a lot of responsibility
Contribute to the back-end or front-end based on your expertise

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 4+ years of relevant industry experience as a software engineer
Experience in writing automated tests
Comfortable in both back-end and front-end work
Have a good understanding of web applications – both at the data and architecture level
Enthusiasm for responsibility and a sense of ownership of the created product
Deep understanding of how JavaScript works
Proficiency with React (hooks, Next.js, Redux, and CSS) is a major advantage
Experience with Node.js is a plus
Familiarity with large scale, cloud-based web applications
Demonstrable expertise in the architecture of design systems and components
Can work well and productively in a remote environment with rapid learning capabilities
