Job description

A purpose-driven EdTech company empowering higher education to build a better online curriculum, is looking for a Full-stack Engineer. The engineer will help the existing team to build and map out the next generation of educational technology. The platform provides easy-to-build tools to teachers and schools so they can design their own digital content to fit various learning environments. This is an exciting opportunity for developers to have a tremendous influence on the overall growth and success of the company’s products as an early development role. This role requires some overlap with the ET/CT/MT/or PT time zones.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the existing product: a peer-to-peer gamified discussion and simulation
  • Develop additional products from scratch and with complete freedom of innovation
  • Work alongside a fully remote and highly self-motivated team of professionals committed to developing better ed-tech
  • Lead tasks like translating best practices in instructional design into software applications
  • Contribute to the overall growth and success of the company’s products

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer
  • Should possess expertise in technologies like React, Typescript/JavaScript, Java, and MongoDB
  • Must be able to write clean, maintainable, and efficient codes and APIs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to speak fluently in English
  • Develop new skills and put them into practice in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to suggest efficient strategic solutions to drive long term technical vision
  • Must be a team player, mission-driven, and always motivated to developing something truly outstanding and game-changing
  • Prior experience in building and integrating cloud infrastructures like AWS is preferred
  • Professional knowledge of game design, education, and instructional design is desirable
  • Working knowledge of Scala, deep learning, AI, or NLP will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of popular online education platforms or LMS-es would be preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of design and related fundamentals of UX is desirable
