Full-Stack Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Write effective Python code to tackle complex issues
• Use business sense and analytical abilities to glean valuable insights from public databases
• Clearly express the reasoning and logic when writing code in Jupyter notebooks or other suitable mediums
• Communicate and collaborate with researchers
• Ensure comprehensive code documentation
• Utilize your data analysis skills to develop and respond to important business queries using available datasets (such as those from Kaggle, the UN, the US government, etc.)

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 2+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
• Relevant experience with Python
• Industry experience and knowledge of code quality, formatting, and best practices of software development
• Excellent communication abilities to work with stakeholders and researchers successfully
• Strong data analytic abilities and business sense are required to draw the appropriate conclusions from the dataset, respond to those conclusions, and clearly convey the key findings
• Fluent in conversational and written English communication skills

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to create user-friendly, scalable, and high-performance web applications using TypeScript, React, and GraphQL
• Develop front-end components and user interfaces that are responsive, accessible, and deliver a seamless user experience across various devices and platforms
• Implement and optimize front-end architecture and design patterns to ensure code reusability, maintainability, and scalability
• Integrate with back-end services and databases to deliver end-to-end features and functionalities
• Participate in automated testing and continuous integration/deployment processes to maintain code quality and ensure robustness
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance the technical capabilities of our applications

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Full-Stack Engineer with a strong focus on front-end development using React, TypeScript, and GraphQL
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and responsive design principles
• Extensive experience with state management libraries like Redux or context API in React
• Prior experience in constructing complex, full-scale web applications from scratch, based solely on Figma designs is desirable
• Some experience with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) using Next.js is nice to have
• In-depth knowledge of GraphQL query language and Apollo Client for data fetching and management is preferred
• Familiarity with modern frontend build tools and workflows (e.g., webpack, Babel, ESLint, Prettier) is desirable but not a requirement
• Nice to have some experience in developing and maintaining Progressive Web Applications (PWAs) or mobile applications using React Native
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
