Job description

A NASDAQ-listed e-commerce giant that has successfully revolutionized the online shopping experience for customers across the globe is looking for a Full-Stack Developer. The developer will be tasked with incorporating front-end elements with logic and functionality on the server-side. The company's robust platform enables consumers, sellers, and content creators to engage with each other on the leading online retailer. The company has managed to raise $100 mn+ in funding so far. This position requires 4+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and support a search platform serving businesses of all sizes
  • Work on OpenSearch and Apache Lucene and explore opportunities to contribute to open source
  • Work on complex problems in areas such as data storage, query optimization, JVM performance optimization, security, and machine learning 
  • Continually challenge existing issues and enunciate required changes to meet evolving customer needs
  • Possess expert-level knowledge in large-scale distributed system design and engineering best practices
  • Participate in setting a vision for OpenSearch in alignment with community needs and opportunities
  • Drive algorithm and architecture design, execute and deliver results
  • Join a group of motivated people and work with them to solve challenging problems in a collaborative environment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack developer 
  • Extensive experience in Java, Python, and Kotlin
  • Demonstrable Cloud experience (any provider does not have to be AWS)
  • Nice to have experience in Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, and Apache Lucene 
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
