Job description

A US-based e-commerce company that has permanently altered the global online shopping and delivery experience for millions of customers is looking for a Full-Stack Developer. The selected candidate will be participating in the complete life cycle of the software development process. The NASDAQ-listed company has carved out a name for itself as one of the biggest and most profitable online retail e-commerce syndicates. So far, the company has managed to secure $100mn+ in funding. This position requires an overlap of at least 4+ hours with the PST time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to open source by working at the core of OpenSearch and Apache Lucene 
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm solutions in areas such as data storage, query optimization, JVM performance optimization, security, and machine learning
  • Conduct code reviews to effectively meet company’s goals and suggest improvements
  • Work with leadership to set a vision and define objectives for OpenSearch in alignment with community needs 
  • Drive and work on software architecture to design, implement, and deliver results

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack developer 
  • Extensive experience in Java and Python 
  • Demonstrable experience in Cloud, preferably AWS
  • Nice to have experience in Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, Apache Lucene 
  • Solid understanding of large scale distributed system design and engineering best practices
  • At least 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design of new and/or current systems
  • Relevant programming experience in at least one language
  • Design and build solutions for complex, technical problems 
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking ability 
  • Prior experience with data structures and algorithms
