Job description

A fast-growing company that enables users to effortlessly connect with friends and family to compile memories and pay tribute to loved ones is looking for a Full-Stack Developer. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing project execution and ensuring the architecture and detailed designing of the platform. The company is providing users with a personalized digital space to honor, share stories, photos, and acknowledge the impact of loved ones. This is an excellent opportunity for developers to contribute their talents to a relevant cause. This role requires 4+ hours overlap with the CST time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build out the back-end systems and optimize them for performance, reliability, and modularity
  • Create front-end web app experiences that are compelling and simple to use
  • Take control of the technology stack and information architecture
  • Ensure the firm's continuous integration and deployment policies are in place to ensure speed-to-market without sacrificing the greatest possible client experience with the product
  • Create and manage a headless CMS for the team to deliver material continuously
  • Investigate, recommend, and integrate new tools, frameworks, platforms, or languages that will help to improve the product experience and development process
  • Create and deliver important, complex features in stages
  • Resolve performance issues and scale bottlenecks monthly
  • Balance feature development with long-term tech investments to keep the platform healthy
  • Assist in defining the OKRs and provide a roadmap for the team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience working as a full-stack developer
  • Prioritize the user’s demands
  • Ability to break down large projects into manageable, testable chunks to reach business-critical milestones consistently
  • Fluency with Ruby on Rails as well as service-oriented and modularized architecture techniques are required
  • Competency in providing right-sized solutions, thoughtful trade-offs, and game-changing innovation
  • Clear, inclusive communication with coworkers and non-technical partners is essential
  • Solid React or other JavaScript frameworks like Angular or Ember experience
  • Experience working alongside designers on fast-paced, highly iterative projects in an agile environment 
  • Pragmatic approach while still providing quality and maintainable code
  • Familiarity with responsive design, search engine optimization, and accessibility
  • Team player eager to collaborate and contribute to the delivery of high-quality projects
  • Must have an experience with PostgreSQL and AWS Services
  • Experience working with a startup
