Job description

A leading software company offering sustainability reporting and collating services to organizations is looking for a Software Architect/Developer. As an experienced developer, you will work on a variety of projects such as modernizing the user workflows and application’s UX, incorporating new and innovative features, maintaining and growing the base product, etc. The company has raised over $2 mn in funding so far. This is a rare opportunity for the candidate to collaborate with sustainability and industry professionals at Fortune 500s while working closely with end-users and making a huge impact. It is a full-time, long-term role that requires 4+ hours of time overlap with Pacific Time.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete modernization of user workflows and the application’s UX
  • Work with the development team to plan and architect the next version of the sustainability application
  • Take ownership and write the code for a significant piece of application
  • Work with the client-facing consulting staff to understand and anticipate the client needs
  • Design, build and maintain the features and functionality to meet and exceed those needs in a manner that delights users 
  • Contribute to and evolve DevOps
  • Investigate and resolve bugs and consequently improve performance
  • Stay informed regarding innovations and best practices in the industry and update the team on the same

 Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science(or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years experience developing in Ruby on Rails
  • 5+ years experience in front-end development (JavaScript, jQuery, or similar)
  • Experience with HAML and Sass
  • Experience with test-driven development in general and Rspec in particular
  • Prior experience with GitHub
  • Must have prior architecture experience 
  • Prior experience in Heroku, CSS, and SQL is nice to have
