Job description
Job responsibilities
- Oversee and contribute to the development of the production test equipment, test programs, and debug processes for new products
- Run engineering design reviews independently and guide in deploying the best test methodologies and guidelines
- Take charge of preparing test data and test environments
- Support test manager or test automation engineer in identifying the right automation procedures
- Ensure optimal quality and successful deployment of the company’s products
- Research and implement testing best practices, latest industry trends and processes in projects, and mentor junior testers with the findings
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience as a test engineer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Experience in writing test scripts with one or more programming languages including Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, etc.
- Experience with front-end, API, and/or database test automation frameworks/tools like Selenium, Cypress, Serenity BDD, REST API testing, etc.
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard Quality Assurance best practices for Agile and Iterative SDLCs, testing methodologies, implementation, and deployment activities
- Solid working experience with testing with Jenkins, TeamCity, or Maven in a continuous integration environment
- Expertise in using version control systems (Git)
- Fluent in English to communicate effectively
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills
- Prior experience in mobile testing, cloud migration testing, or data integrity testing
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Ability to design test strategy independently for a project
- Any certifications in testing is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of the Agile development process
- Great technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
