How to become a C++/Squish developer?

Manual testing is a very complex and complicated task. There are high chances of having error testing applications. We are in the transition period where we are slowly moving towards a more automated approach than the manual one. While talking about automated testing frameworks, we have heard about Squish that is introduced by FrogLogic. Squish is a cross-platform framework that automatically tests applications based on different GUI technologies. This property based object identification was introduced in 2003. This automated tool can help you record and replay scripts written in JavaScript, Perl, Python, Ruby or Tcl.

Companies are preferring Squish developers over manual testers as it increases the overall quality, saves time and money. With the help of Squish, developers can test different GUI applications based on toolkits such as Qt, and the Tk, Java, Oracle, and Android. Developers can also test web applications based on HTML that run on safari, chrome, internet explorer, Microsoft edge and firefox.

What is the scope in C++/Squish development?

Each project is unique. Therefore, they have different test requirements and that’s where an automated testing framework can save you a lot of time, money and manpower. When we talk about squish, it is the choice of several companies to automate the tests of their graphical user interface (GUIs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs). It contributes to making lives easier for C++/ Squish developers depending on the requirements of the project.

The main features that make C++/ Squish development so unique are:

  • Supports all the major GUI technologies and embedded platforms like Web, desktop and mobile.
  • Recording and replaying of test scripts
  • Powerful and reliable object identification and verifications
  • It helps with recording, test execution, debugging, maintenance and results
  • Powerful integrated development environment (IDE)
  • Test scripting can be done in many different and popular script languages.
  • Full support for Behavior Driven Development (BDD)

Have you ever come across the thought of becoming a C++/ Squish developer? Then you must go through the piece.
