Job description

A U.S.-based company that uses turnkey offices that fit all budgets, flexible memberships, and hybrid techniques to enable consumers to locate office spaces at hundreds of sites nearby or globally, is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for providing service architectures with direction and vision going forward, with an emphasis on scalability and stability. The company's platform turns infrastructure into dynamic spaces for cooperation, concentration, and creativity. The company has managed to secure more than $20bn in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Lead and oversee the whole service lifecycle, with an emphasis on system and enterprise architecture. This includes initial setup, release procedures, and showcasing a love for creating software that helps other engineers by automating and streamlining the deployment and operation of services
  • Sustain services by keeping an eye on and assessing latency, availability, and system health all the time
  • Encourage iterative advancements in these domains by implementing novel technology or creating new instruments
  • Make use of your knowledge of enterprise and system architecture to improve scalability and dependability
  • Assure the systems' dependability, performance, and availability while giving careful consideration to putting in place robust security measures
  • Construct and execute a scalable, secure architecture for the main backend system and future services
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities, improve security procedures, and put solutions in place to protect our data and infrastructure
  • Assist with architectural and systems design evaluations to support early-stage planning for new services
  • Perform security audits on the company's third-party software and libraries, analyzing their security posture and their effects on the enterprise
  • Utilize your understanding of enterprise and system architecture to evaluate the overall state of security
  • Encourage and put into practice efficient incident response management while taking the system's and enterprise architecture's effects into account
  • Younger team members should be mentored and guided in order to promote a culture of security awareness and information sharing
  • Keep abreast on the most recent security risks, flaws, and industry best practices for secure development and software evaluation


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
  • 8+ years of experience in a similar field, preferably in software engineering or systems engineering, with a strong emphasis on security
  • Extensive experience working with AWS, EC2, and AWS Lambda
  • Practical expertise in building and maintaining intricate AWS systems
  • Thorough familiarity with all aspects of the AWS platform, such as Lambda, Cloudfront, Route 53, EC2, VPC, RDS, and S3
  • Strong familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform
  • Extensive knowledge of CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Gitlab CI, and CircleCI
  • Familiarity with security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., OWASP, NIST, CIS)
  • Expertise in safe coding techniques and acquaintance with popular programming languages such as Ruby, Python, or Java
  • Some familiarity with Terraform is nice to have
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to work well in cross-functional teams and explain complicated security concepts to stakeholders who are both technical and non-technical
  • Nice to have some knowledge of penetration testing techniques, vulnerability scanning, and security assessment tools
  • Thorough awareness of the regulations governing compliance in the tech sector is desirable
  • Preferred to have programming experience in a typed language is preferred
  • Prior CDK-TF experience or solid Terraform experience is nice to have
  • Extensive knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, SCIM, and SAML is nice to have
  • Fluent in English communication, both spoken and written
