Job description

A NASDAQ-listed company that is developing a media-buying company that is focused specifically on the open internet, is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for offering large-scale solutions for the hardware needed to run a distributed system. The company's world-class technology is leveraging data to help modern marketers accelerate their brand growth. The company has managed to secure more than $255mn in funding so far. This will be a full-time, long-term position requiring 4+ hours of overlap with the Sydney Australian time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help the team to get away from configuration management focus
  • Solve DevOps problems with a focus on monitoring, maintaining, and proactive problem-solving
  • Ensure supportability by developing innovative solutions for the infrastructure through the building, implementation, operation, and addition of features to self-service tooling and automation
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and postmortem discussions to effectively drive long-term operational health improvements
  • Analyze for process gaps and implement solutions
  • Effectively advance toward a shared goal, engage in active communication with both the team and the rest of the company

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
  • Extensive software engineering experience working with an infrastructure focus like Google SRE
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in either Python, Go / Golang, TypeScript, Ruby, or C#
  • Prior experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting service-oriented applications
  • Strong domain knowledge in Kubernetes, Docker, ArgoCD, Backstage, Kafka, Service Discovery (i.e. Consul), AWS, Azure, and Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun)
  • Extensive experience with Linux operating system internals, filesystems, storage technologies, protocols, and networking stack
  • Demonstrable experience with GitOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
  • Prior experience working with physical (on-prem) server internals, their management, and operation
  • Some familiarity with key performance indicator definitions, configuration management, capacity modeling, monitoring, data gathering and analysis, and tracking
  • Solid knowledge of systems design and the benefits and cons of various strategies
  • Prior experience in developing always-on systems, working with a variety of technologies, and working at different service tiers
  • Use a data-driven strategy for both short-term wagers and long-term investments
  • Operate with a clear understanding of expenses and the return on investment in terms of time, implementation, and customer effect to decrease complexity and operational hazards
  • Demonstrable experience in making substantial, self-driven contributions to important, large-scale undertakings 
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation abilities
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
