Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing an innovative collaboration platform for API development is looking for a Senior Kubernetes Engineer. The engineer will be reporting to the Engineering Manager of the Cloud infrastructure team and will be responsible for creating and controlling the systems and procedures needed to manage a dependable and effective Kubernetes cluster. The company facilitates collaboration amongst clients to swiftly produce better APIs by streamlining each stage of the API lifecycle. The company has managed to secure more than $430mn in funding so far. This position requires a significant overlap with the IST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively collaborate with product teams, engineering leaders, and other stakeholders to ship tools and services that significantly boost developer productivity and allow for the quick and reliable deployment of services
  • Plays a key role in advancing strategic initiatives, encouraging the use of new or improved computing resources, and spotting possibilities for service layer abstraction and construction to support engineering excellence
  • Develop and put into use innovative, scalable frameworks and tools that enable hundreds of engineers to ship code more successfully, while also advancing the infrastructure to accommodate the expanding demands of product squads
  • Continue to define and hone our tech stack, making use of open-source tools, generalizing product-specific code, and/or developing creative solutions to issues we run across
  • Maintain current disaster recovery and business continuity policies
  • Actively help junior developers through code reviews and paired programming by providing them with technical advice on overall architecture and design

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 3+ years of experience in building distributed systems 
  • At least 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes operation
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and technologies to provide end-to-end solutions
  • Ability to translate sophisticated technological answers into intuitive abstractions
  • Must have an open mind when it comes to leading emerging workflows that may develop into their own open-source community
  • Strong background in CI/CD and Agile development, employing tools like GIT, CircleCI, New Relic, AWS, etc.
  • Nice to have some experience with the AWS Elastic Kubernetes service as well as any upstream contributions made to the Kubernetes project or its components
  • Prolific experience working with and managing Kubernetes and DevOps
  • Extensive experience with JavaScript and related technologies
  • Showcase a product mindset while possessing excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
