Job description

An early-stage venture-backed company building the next generation of camera-based 3D vision technology is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing optimized software on embedded devices and automotive-grade SoCs. The US-based company is helping to save millions of lives by ensuring the safety of vehicles through reliable and high-performance 3D sensors. The company is led by MIT alumni and has raised over $10mn in funding so far. This will be a great chance for the selected candidate to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, fun, and open environment with substantial career growth opportunities. It requires an overlap with the PST/EST timezones.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create products that add to the organization's product and service ecosystem
  • Computer vision algorithms must be implemented, tuned, and improved on complex hardware platforms
  • Manage the project's deliverables and priorities
  • Performance should be benchmarked, datasheets should be created, and production code should be written
  • Develop computer architecture, lower-level computer systems, embedded system products, and kernels
  • Analyze and improve system resource efficiency, scalability, and stability
  • Assisting with software quality analysis and optimizing I/O performance
  • Providing clients with post-production assistance
  • Write efficient and correct code that is clean and well-tested

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of experience working with production software is required
  • Experience in algorithm development and optimization is a must
  • Excellent knowledge of C/C++ is required
  • Good working knowledge of Python is a must
  • Experience with automotive software (e.g., MISRA, AUTOSAR) is nice to have
  • Familiarity with Computer Vision algorithms and OpenCV is required
  • Experience with hardware-dependent like SIMD, DSP, GPU, ASIC, and FPGA algorithm optimization is a must
  • Experience with CUDA programming is required
  • Experience with automotive industry SoCs is nice to have
  • Strong mathematical foundations are essential
  • Familiarity with good programming practices such as continuous integration and version control is nice to have
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
