Job description

A U.S.-based company operating as the world's largest marketplace for apps and reports that analyze DNA data from any test is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with development teams to improve the CI/CD process for Kubernetes deployments. The company's patented technology facilitates the storage, access, and analysis of DNA information with clinical-grade comprehensiveness and durability. The company has managed to raise $5 mn in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and enhance DevOps for the technological suite of the organization
  • Collaborate with the development teams on the CI/CD process for Kubernetes deployments
  • Configure, optimize, and debug Kubernetes clusters and complicated k8s-hosted apps
  • Architect, create and deploy cutting-edge software solutions for DevOps and Agile transformations
  • Create automation strategies
  • Infrastructure should be implemented as code (IaC)
  • Reveal the CI/CD processes' strengths and flaws and automate routes ahead to alleviate such deficiencies
  • Deliver a 24x7 live site support methodology for the company's services
  • General administration of Linux (Ubuntu) systems
  • Practical management of Windows systems
  • Administration and setup of networks: Network configuration, routing, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Management/configuration of LDAP catalogs
  • Resolving software deployments/dependencies on Linux systems
  • Create detailed documentation for procedures, summaries, reports, and so on
  • Communicate solutions to stakeholders who are both technical and non-technical

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of experience writing performant code in a high-level programming language
  • 5+ years of experience testing, deploying, and operating web services on cloud-based infrastructure on a large scale
  • Knowledge of DevOps
  • Expertise in AWS and its cloud infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes cluster setup and administration
  • Expertise in implementing infrastructure as code (IaC), including Terraform
  • Experience working with container technologies in a production environment
  • Knowledge of building and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure with Bitbucket and Argo CD
  • Knowledge of basic coding skills in Java, Python, Go, C++, or a similar language
  • Knowledge of microservices architectures
  • Knowledge of Linux networking tools chain, including VPN
  • Expertise in DevOps management/automation tools like Rundeck
  • Expertise in Linux BASH, Python, etc
  • Understanding of Linux system internals/packages management
  • Expertise in YAML is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL is nice to have
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging technical environment to produce meaningful results for the business
  • Ability to manage multiple project phases at the same time
  • Constantly learning about and testing new technologies, techniques, and tools
  • Proficiency in English
