Job description

A U.S.-based company building a world-class platform that is transforming how individuals connect, communicate, and express themselves digitally is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing automated deployment flows from development to testing and production. The company has contributed to the development and evolution of some of the world's most popular and frequently used dating and entertainment websites. This position requires 8 hours of overlap with the PST time zone. The company has managed to secure more than $550 mn+ in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Configure, manage, adjust, and operate massive Kubernetes clusters as well as third-party engines like caches, databases, message buses, load balancers, etc.
  • Create and manage mechanisms that allow CI/CD for the program
  • Deploy the web apps to Kubernetes as quickly as possible
  • Create dashboards and KPIs to offer all stakeholders insight into the continuous delivery flow
  • Create and maintain monitoring/alerting systems and technologies for detecting, notifying, and reviewing service problems
  • Educate team members about CI/CD tools and methods, and assist them in developing software components that adhere to the continuous delivery flow
  • As part of a sprint cycle, collaborate with other agile team members to develop and automate software deployment and setup
  • Create and implement automated deployment flows from development through testing and integration to production
  • Installing and configuring infrastructures for cross-team deployments, as well as overseeing handover to operational teams
  • Make recommendations for best practices/standards
  • Investigate serious production concerns that arise outside of the normal release cycle
  • Analyze production mistakes to identify and develop tools for problem mitigation throughout the system design stage

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of experience developing CI/CD flows and scripts
  • In-depth knowledge of deployment containers and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with code deployment and infrastructure management tools, such as Chef, Ansible, Terraform, etc
  • Knowledge of automation execution tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo, etc 
  • Experience with databases and SQL
  • Familiarity with an agile development process
  • Experience in delivering CI/CD as part of an agile scrum/kanban team and for a large web application software product is nice to have
  • Experience in building and managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters is desirable
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills applied to software build automation
  • Must be 21 years old or older and comfortable with adult content
  • Proficiency in English
