Job description

A U.S.-based company building an enterprise data hub for clients and business leaders in the IT industry is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for setting up and implementing new development tools and infrastructure. The company provides an enterprise's data assets in order to address workflow difficulties in all business areas. This position requires a significant overlap with the EST time zone and will be a full-time long-term position. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain solutions for deployment and automation to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Work with other engineers to ensure high availability and quality of production software
  • Create, manage, and establish processes to optimize for high-quality software delivery
  • Help enforce best practices for DevOps in the organization
  • Drive CI/CD adoption and utilization to create a frictionless development process

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps engineer
  • Extensive experience in Gitlab, Terraform, and AWS /Azure
  • Prior experience in a data engineering role is preferred 
  • Demonstrable experience in MS SQLServer
  • Experience in Python, Java, Bash, or any other programming language is a plus 
  • Experience in Azure is preferred 
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience building release pipelines
  • Extensive experience in Linux-based infrastructures, administration, and AWS
  • Working experience with established and new database technologies such as MS SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-code and infrastructure automation to deploy to cloud environments, e.g., Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Clear and fluent English communication skills
  • Expertise with Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD)
  • Demonstrable experience in Java, Python, Bash, C# 
  • Experience working with container-based technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
