Job description

An early-stage startup that operates an open-source platform is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer. The engineer will define the strategy, implement the system, and lead efforts to provide users with highly scalable and reliable infrastructure. The company comprises high-tech leaders and engineers previously at Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Lyft. It has raised over $9mn in funding and is backed by top-tier Silicon Valley VCs. Candidates with interest in leadership and open source contributions are suitable for the position. This role requires a time overlap with the PST or related time zones.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production environment and act to keep systems stable and running
  • Create next-gen solutions for unique and challenging use cases
  • Provide direction to developers with troubleshooting and application errors due to configuration issues
  • Recommend and implement automated processes to improve the performance and reliability of systems

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2-3+ years of relevant experience building core distributed services and high-performance systems engineering 
  • Experience shipping high-quality software
  • Extensive expertise as a DevOps engineer or similar software engineering role
  • Knowledge of various deployment strategies
  • Good understanding of Kubernetes and Golang
  • Proficient with AWS and GCP
