Job description

A Silicon Valley-based company that specializes in developing real-time stateful server-less applications is looking for a Senior C++ Developer. The selected candidate will be developing innovative new ideas while building a massively distributed, decentralized, and real-time data platform on an astronomical scale. The company is on a mission to empower developers to build apps and APIs without any limitations of time, space, and cloud architectures. The company aims to make globally distributed application development and deployment simple and instant. They have managed to successfully raise more than $25mn during their Series A round of funding. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver cutting-edge geo-distributed cloud infrastructure software
  • Maintain, secure, and scale the platform in order to meet users' needs while monitoring its capacity and performance
  • Work on developing a geo-distributed real-time data platform with low latency and huge scalability
  • Participate in all stages of product development, including system testing and performance evaluation
  • Focus on delivering the greatest levels of robustness, performance, modularity, and simplicity in a distributed, multi-threaded environment
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure that design and development are on track and that our product goals and quality metrics are fulfilled
  • Create clear and concise documentation for all work done, such as architectural and design documents, code comments, technical notes, internal application notes, bug fixes, and root cause analysis, among other things
  • As required, collaborate with the automation team and assist with issue evaluation and resolution

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of experience working as a software developer
  • Prior experience writing concurrent server software in a modern C++ environment is required
  • Experience designing a core database or real-time systems software is a plus
  • Strong basics in computer science, such as data structures, distributed algorithms, and software design
  • Extensive experience developing core database or real-time systems software with specialist knowledge in at least one of these areas: Data access techniques, recovery and high availability, cache hierarchies, SQL compilation, parallel execution, query optimization, distributed transactions, SQL compilation, parallel execution, query optimization, distributed transactions, data access methods, recovery, and high availability
  • Experience programming, debugging, and exploring performance issues 
  • Experience working on parallel and distributed techniques to scale systems
  • Prior expertise in creating the best software possible while working under real-world restrictions
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
