Job description

A world-class digital consumer goods company that is revolutionizing the e-commerce industry is looking for a Principal Software Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for breaking down complex problems, visualizing solutions, and designing appropriate software to perform the job. The company is committed to transforming great consumer brands into powerhouses and has successfully raised funding worth $3 bn+ so far. Candidates capable of thriving in a fast-growing, collaborative environment are suitable for this position. The role requires some overlap with the EST time zone.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand a large problem domain and build software to make business better   
  • Evolve the architecture, design services, and related resources to solve business problems
  • Work with technical and product managers to build out a team of strong engineers to execute the priorities
  • Work closely with Data Connectivity and Data Warehouse teams to accurately represent the data in the platforms and across 3rd party services
  • Implement best practices, refine the onboarding processes, and play a critical role within the engineering team
  • Guide, train, and mentor junior engineers on the team to boost performance  

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Extensive experience working with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL and designing data models
  • Experience with API design and best practices
  • Exposure to modern frontend development technologies React and Vue
  • Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical
  • Proficiency in continuous integration, test automation, and deployment
  • Demonstrated expertise in distributed and service-oriented systems and microservice architecture design 
  • Previous working skills in defining and building a microservices platform is nice to have
  • Experience architecting client-side Single Page Applications is desirable
