Job description

A US-based non-profit educational organization is looking for a DevOps Engineer. The engineer will work on the API version, including writing Terraform and associated scripts for deployment. The company is focused on eliminating educational inequity and advancing social justice by creating next-generation learning models and tools that serve, inform, and enhance teaching and learning. The candidate is expected to have sound expertise with DevOps tools and be familiar with deploying to the cloud using GCP. This is a nice opportunity to collaborate on building world-class projects, technology, and initiatives that impact millions of students.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Breakdown large/complex problems into multiple problems
  • Maintain and optimize Ed-Fi version 5.2.0 API on Google Cloud Run
  • Maintain and optimize Ed-Fi ODS and API version 5.2.0 deployment
  • Write Terraform and associated scripts to deploy the Ed-Fi version 5.2.0 ODS on Google Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL
  • Write Terraform to deploy a Google Kubernetes Engine instance and Cloud SQL database
  • Modify an Airflow Helm Chart to deploy Airflow version 2 to the Google Kubernetes Engine instance
  • Configure OAuth Authentication and set up SSL
  • Help set up and optimize network storage or cloud storage sync with GCS Fuse or similar

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science(or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of DevOps engineering experience
  • Must have excellent skills in Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, Terraform, SQL
  • Must have prior general CI/CD experience
  • Familiarity with deploying to the Cloud (like Google Cloud Platform)
  • Nice to have prior knowledge of Python Flask, .NET Core, etc. 
  • Experience deploying on the Google Cloud Platform
  • Excellent understanding and experience with Apache Airflow and Bitbucket Pipelines
  • Working knowledge of security best practices for deployments accessible over the public internet
