Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing top-notch financial services and technology with a focus on robo-advice and micro-investing, is looking for a DevOps Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of the production system monitoring and troubleshooting while quickly resolving incidents and performance problems. The company is on a mission to protect the financial security of the youth by providing them with empowering micro-investing solutions. The company has managed to secure more than $505mn during their Series F round of funding.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and compliance of applications and infrastructure components by putting best practices and security measures into place
  • Find opportunities to improve performance, lower costs, and optimize the infrastructure
  • Participate in on-call shifts and mentor and guide younger team members on technical matters
  • Maintain and improve the configuration management procedures and tools for controlling infrastructure as code

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Prior experience building, testing, and deploying software to a production cloud environment 
  • Demonstrable AWS experience building, securing, and configuring resources using code
  • In-depth knowledge of Container (Docker, ECS, K8) and Serverless (AWS Lambda) 
  • Extensive experience working with Bash scripting, Terraform, and Cloudformation
  • Prolific understanding of the Observability toolkit, including DataDog, Sentry, Cloudwatch, and Kibana
  • Solid understanding of GitHub Actions and Git
  • Working knowledge of Circle CI, Jenkins, AWS Codebuild, and AWS Serverless
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
