Job description

A U.S.-based company that is on a mission to help businesses scale themselves and add a productivity layer for their cloud infrastructure, is looking for a DevOps Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for reviewing AI-output on various DevOps-related issues, and if the AI-output is incorrect, suggesting a fix. The company is enhancing the observability, incident management, and monitoring technologies used by businesses to enable production orchestration and security at the next level of AIOps capacity. The company has successfully managed to secure $54mn+ during their Series B round of funding.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create automation scripts for Kubernetes, VMs, and common operational issues on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Learn everything there is to know about Linux, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes
  • Review the company's operational language and user interface while offering suggestions for how to make the system better
  • Configure the metrics alarms and the metrics gathering
  • Deploy test applications matching customer's automation needs (e.g., ElasticSearch, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Tomcat, Presto, Nginx, etc.)
  • Ensure that the applications are deployed to Kubernetes and virtual machines (EC2).
  • Through CI/CD, develop test suites for automation and produce automation tests.
  • Publish automation in the open-source repository as Op Packs
  • Create test Kubernetes clusters and build alternative testing environments
  • Set up IAM permissions and roles

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes in production deployments
  • 2+ years of demonstrable experience using Terraform
  • Extensive experience working with AWS
  • 3+ years of experience administering Linux servers using OpenSSH, NFS, bind, Nginx/Apache, or other similar applications
  • In-depth knowledge and experience interacting with computers through a CLI
  • Prolific experience working with bash and shell scripting
  • Comprehensive understanding of any one distribution of Linux (Ubuntu, Centos, Amazon Linux, RHEL, Debian, etc.)
  • Demonstrable prior experience with any major cloud platform like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Extensive experience configuring CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub actions, CircleCI, Spinnaker, or the equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience building Docker container images
  • Prior experience writing tests using a framework like pytest, Selenium, etc.
  • Nice to have some experience working with Linux, Azure, and CI/CD
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform and Docker is desirable
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
