Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing autonomous, consumer-focused technology to create a fair and equitable media market that connects publishers and advertisers with their audiences directly, is looking for a DevOps Engineer. The selected candidate will be working closely with the Director of Infrastructure and will be responsible for setting up Docker Container-based infrastructure for development environments. The company’s advanced technology is helping businesses to take full advantage of the open-web marketplace. The company has managed to secure $10mn+ in funding so far. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of setting up clusters, virtualized cloud platforms, and containers
  • Oversee the construction, execution, and automation of deployments
  • Ensure the smooth experience of system monitoring, upkeep, and optimization for use in development, staging, and production
  • Processes should be continually improved through automation and tool development
  • Analyze service disruptions and develop deployment prevention measures

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Familiarity with Linux environments
  • Prolific programming experience in Python and Memcache
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering scalable production deployments
  • Experience with production monitoring concepts and tools like Ganglia and Zabbix
  • Experience with Bash and Python for development and/or scripting to automate everything
  • Prior experience with provisioning and configuration management tools like Ansible or SaltStack
  • Extensive experience with both Cloud (like AWS) and data center environments
  • Experience with Virtualization technologies like Xen
  • Prior experience with Containerization Technologies like Docker
  • Experience with the setting, maintaining, and optimizing Hadoop/Spark/HDFS Clusters
  • Experience with setting up schedulers such as SLURM, Mesos, Airflow, etc
  • Must be highly reliable with close attention to timelines
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent English communication skills
