Job description

A U.S.-based SaaS and big data company operating as industry leaders in public safety, workplace safety, physical and digital security, and surveillance, is looking for a Data Transition Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for the continued development and transition of one of the flagship products. The company parthers with federal, state, local, tribal & international law enforcement to provide encrypted security and surveillance information network. It has successfully raised more than $400K in funding so far. This is an excellent opportunity for the candidate to work towards achieving set goals with the help and support of the team. It requires an overlap with PST/EST time zones.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work and communicate with team members to develop and lead the transition to .Net Core
  • Build a true application/server setup for a flagship desktop and virtual client server product
  • Build and support high-quality web and desktop applications on the Microsoft technology stack along side the AWS back-end stack for databases and other server management 
  • Maintain internal and external facing web applications using C#/ASP.NET
  • Create and modify stored procedures, as well as queries to extract and update data in SQL Server
  • Identify code defects and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
  • Define with the team and adhere to formal coding processes, documentation, and standards

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant data engineering experience
  • A working knowledge of documentDB would be helpful
  • Proficiency in ASP.Net MVC, .Net Core, and .Net 3.5
  • Experience in CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, and associated tools (Node.js, jQuery, etc.)
  • Proficiency in SQL Server
  • Knowledge of Web Services and REST API development
  • Expertise in version control software
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio is needed
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity and understanding of AWS
  • Fluency in English
