Job description

A US-based company dedicated to helping data-driven enterprises achieve excellence and innovation agility, is looking for a Back-end Systems Engineer. The engineer will be working on a variety of tasks including database programming and processing large amounts of data. The company has created the world's first Data Observability Cloud for hybrid data lakes and cloud data warehouses. The firm has managed to raise $10.6mn in funding so far. This will be a long term role that will require a time overlap of 4+ hours with the IST. This is a great opportunity for those who would like to work with a data-driven company and rise quickly through the ranks.

Job Responsibilities:

Work on integrating front-end elements with server-side logic and functionalities
Partner with product & engineering (front-end) teams to streamline development
Optimize the platform for quick and efficient execution
Pay close attention to resolving scalability related problems
Deploy and ensure integration of best security & data protection practices
Develop ideas, design & build APIs, data storage solutions, and other solutions

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end system engineer
Experience with database programming is required
Proficient with technologies like Spark, Snowflake, and Hive
Expertise in Scala, Java, and Node.js
Experience in processing large volumes of data
Should be well-versed with database administration, scripting, data migration & backup, and authorization
Must possess a strong analytical mindset with an ability to communicate efficiently in English
